FAQ

If your camera power sign is not on, you need to consider there is a default on your camera, battery, sd card or loose connection. Here are tips for helping you out regarding such issues
1. Push the power button for 2 seconds.
2. Remove battery, put it back and restart.
3. Format your SD memory card and restart.

1. Download the file and unzip the archive.
2. Insert a memory card in your camera and connect it via USB to your computer. Turn the camera on so it is identified as an external drive.
Copy the firmware file in the root of the memory card
You can also perform this operation using a memory card reader.”
3. Once the firmware has been successfully copied, disconnect the USB cable or put the card back in the camera.
4. 5 seconds after turning the camera on the upgrade will start.
5. Once it’s finished the camera will turn itself off.
6. Turn it back on to start using the new firmware.

※ Don’t turn the camera off or remove the battery when the upgrade is on-going.
※ To upgrade the firmware, the battery must have at least 50% of power remaining. Recharge it first if needed.
※ The firmware version can be found in your camera. (SETUP -> Settings -> Information)

If the camera is connected to a computer while it is powered off, the camera starts to recharge the battery.
If the camera is connected to a computer while it is powered on, the camera changes to file-transfer mode.
1. Power on ACTIVEON camera.
2. Connect the camera to a computer via USB cable.
3. The camera LCD will display as ‘USB Ready’.
4. Go to ‘my computer’ in PC.
5. Search ‘removable disc’, and double  click it.
6. Double  click ‘DCIM’ folder.
7. Open the folder to find or photo file.
8. Copy and paste files to your computer.

ou can change WiFi name and password of your camera through ACTIVEON APP.
1. Power on camera and turn on WiFi to APP in SETUP menu.
2. Waiting 1 minute to turn on WiFi
3. On your smartphone, turn on WiFi and select the network ACTV_XXXXXX.
4. Run ACTIVEON APP on your smartphone and pairing camera.
5. Select ‘more option’ icon on bottom-right corner of the screen.
6. Select ‘setting’ icon on bottom-right corner of the screen.
7. Scroll down and select ‘WiFi setup’ menu.
8. Enter new WiFi name and password.
9. New WiFi name and password apply after reboot camera.

When you lost WiFi password, you have to default all setting.
1. Power on camera.
2. Press SETUP button and hold 2 seconds to enter user setup menu.
3. Press SETUP button 3 times to go to enter settings.
4. Press MODE button 8 times to select default setting menu and press REC button.
5. Select ‘YES’ and press REC button to confirm.
6. All settings include WiFi name and password are defaulted.

When your computer does not recognize USB connected camera.
1. Check your camera power turned on.
2. Check USB cable properly connected and not damaged.
3. Check micro SD card properly inserted.
4. Connect camera to other computer.
If problem not solved above solution, use separate SD card reader.

Breathing gently on the lens to fog it up and then wiping with a gentle cloth is the most effective way to clean the lens.
Repeat until clean. We not recommend use liquid lens cleaner. It can be soak through a lens aperture.

4. Press SETUP button to select APP in menu then press REC button.
5. Press SETUP button and hold 2 seconds to go back main screen.
6. Waiting 1 min to turn on Wi-Fi and check Wi-Fi icon in camera LCD screen.
7. Turn on Wi-Fi on your smartphone and select the network ACTV_XXXXXX.
8. Run ACTIVEON App and pairing camera.

We recommend Class 10 micro SD Card.
Super fine video/photo image quality and high speed time lapse mode (0.5/1 sec) only available in Class 10 micro SD Card.

Note – Formatting the SD card will delete all data off of the card.
So be sure that you save any videos or pictures you want to keep on your computer before formatting the SD card.

1. Power ON your camera with the SD card inserted.
2. Press SETUP button and hold 2 second to enter setup mode.
3. Press SETUP button 3 times shortly to enter settings.
4. Press MODE button 7 times shortly to select Format menu.
5. Press REC Button then you can see ‘Format memory card’ message on the screen.
6. Press SETUP button to select ‘YES’ then press REC button.
7. Wait few seconds and your SD card being formatted.

The following instructions detail the best way to fully charge your camera battery.
1. Camera power off.
2. Connect the camera to the USB port on the computer.
(Note – If possible use a USB port on the back of the computer.
Alternately you can connect it to a battery charger that outputs 900mA. Chargers can be purchased at the ACTIVEON SHOP.)
3. The front red LED on the camera should turn on to indicate that it is charging.
4. Leave the camera powered off and charging until the front LED has turned off.
Once the front LED turns off, the battery is fully charged. This can take up to 4 hours if the computer is used and up to 2.5 hours if a battery charger is used.

We recommend that use a USB port on the back of the computer, when you connect your camera to your desktop.

USB ports on the back of a computer are more reliable than USB ports on the front.

You can update the firmware of your Wi-Fi Remote from

1. check the version of the remote`s firmware

You will need to install the remote driver and then firmware upgrading tool.
The operation is currently only possible on Windows OS XP and 7.”

4. Driver Installation
– In order to upgrade, you have to install 3 drivers.
– If you unzip the file, there is an installation file. With this, it will automatically install all 3 drivers.

1) Double click on install32.bat or install64.bat
2) If your computer is 32bit system (Window XP) or 64bit system (Window7), you have to run the corresponding file.
3) There will be some messages during installation. Say YES to all.
4) You will see the message indicating that all 3 drivers are installed.
* Now you’re ready to upgrade remote controller.

5. Upgrade the firmware of the remote controller

– Plug in remote to computer with USB
– Remote power on.
– Click download.bat to input S/W into remote
– Wait 30 seconds to update.
– When update is done, remote power will turn itself off automatically.”

Each of the ACTIVEON cameras come in a protective waterproof case that is capable of withstanding depths of up to 196 feet (60 meters).
Before taking the unit in the water you’ll want to be sure to verify that there is no dirt or debris along the white rubber gasket that could compromise the integrity of the waterproof case.

    1. Apply the mount to a smooth and fully cleaned surface. A textured surface or any non-smooth surface may disturb strong bond.
    2. Firmly press mount into place ensuring full contact over the entire surface area.
    3. To remove the adhesive mounts, use a hair dryer or heat gun 4~5mins to soften the adhesive and slowly peel it back.

Note – Please don’t reuse an adhesive mount once you remove it.

1. Open the backdoor of the waterproof housing so that they are perpendicular.
2. Pull downwards on the backdoor until in snaps free from hinge.
3. Line up replacement backdoor into the hinge opening.
4. Push upwards on the backdoor until in clicks into place.
Note – Please pay attention to the damage when pull down backdoor.
